Advent Banners for
St. Andrew's United Church, Halifax

Acrylic and Fabric Paint on Cotton Fabric
Length of Long Banners: 103 cm / 40 in

I designed these banners to hang on the pillars of the arches in the nave of a church with very traditional architecture. The short one hangs under the thermostat.
They were painted with the assistance of six members of the congregation,
and assembled after the painting was complete. The symbols are painted gold
and much of the fabric paint is 'sparkly' to catch the light.

The banners were hung in pairs starting on the First Sunday in Advent,
beginning from the back of the sanctuary.
